I sent an e-mail off to GPA, asking what a new pair and conversion kit would cost.....

I had no problem emailing GPA a few weeks ago. Bill responded promptly to my email & follow up questions? and now they're installing new diaphragms and re-magnetizing my drivers.

This response curve is not typical of a large HF compression driver on a large horn like the 1005B. Please review a 299-8A data sheet and you will see how the 299 is very flat on a Plane Wave Tube and has a "bump" in response when used on an actual horn. The 299 and 288 are very, very similar in frequency response.

Last time I talked to Bill new 288 frams were about $100 each.
